For the past few conferences the GSO has received a dramatic increase in PAIs. In 2023 the Trustees Literature committee received approximately 117 PAIs and in 2024 they received 47 PAIs. (it’s important to note: this is in addition to ongoing work on PAIs). Over 50% of these PAIs were centered on changes to the preamble and the 12X12, concerns about altering the Founder’s Writings, and/or most recently, concerns about the Plain Language Big Book (PLBB).

The increase in proposals puts an “invisible to the fellowship” burden on the GSO staff. And it became clear that everyone might benefit in a better understanding of the pathway of a PAI and what makes them successful i.e. make it to the conference floor for consideration at the April Conference.

This workshop will help in understanding the process and how building consensus is a key factor in success. This is a great opportunity to learn about what happens after we all review the proposed agenda items at our pre conference assemblies and how the heck those items even got on the list for us to review.
