What is A.A.?

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a free fellowship for people who want to address their drinking problem. Anyone who has a desire to stop drinking is welcome to join, regardless of their background, age, or education level. The main goal of AA is to help its members achieve and maintain sobriety.

How Does A.A. Work?

The 12 Steps

Members use the 12 Steps to maintain sobriety. 

By practicing the spiritual principles of AA’s Twelve Steps, people can overcome their compulsion to drink and recover from alcoholism.

The 12 Traditions

Groups use the 12 Traditions to maintain unity.

The 12 Concepts for World Service

The Concepts are an interpretation of A.A.’s world service structure as it emerged through A.A.’s early history and experience.
